On December 18, 2019, the people's Government of Jiangsu Province issued the reply of the provincial government on agreeing to change some administrative divisions of Hanjiang District in Yangzhou City, agreeing to cancel Chengbei township of Hanjiang District and establish Chengbei street of Hanjiang District, with the former Chengbei township as the administrative area of Chengbei street. The sub district office is located in Sanxing village committee, with the office address at 66 shangshangsi road.

After the change of administrative division, the administrative area of Chengbei street is 17.18 square kilometers, with a population of 49500, and it manages six neighborhood committees and four village committees.
