In August 1953, Guangming residents committee was established. In 1955, Guangming Street was established. In 1966, Guangming Street was changed into Guangming commune. In November 1968, Guangming commune was transformed into Guangming commune Revolutionary Committee. In October 1978, the Revolutionary Committee of Guangming commune changed Guangming Street. In January 2000, the residents committee was changed into a community.
