Kalaxilik township is located in the west of Altay City, Xinjiang. It is adjacent to alahak Township in the East, salhusong Township and RAST Township in the south, kostek Township in burjin County in the West and alahak Township in the north, with an administrative area of 624 square kilometers.

History of construction
Before 1976, it belonged to Weidong commune.
In 1976, a ranch was set up in Altay county.
In 1978, it was renamed kalashlik ranch.

By the end of 2011, kalashlik had four administrative villages under its jurisdiction: kalashlik, bitiwurtirek, qalqi and akbulegen.
