Hongdun town
Hongdun town is located in the southeast of Altay City, which is under the jurisdiction of Altay City in Xinjiang. It is adjacent to khandagat Mongolian Township in the East, cherkeqi Township in the south, Tuanjie road street, RAST Township, balibagai Township and aweitan town in the west, and balibagai Township in the north, with an administrative area of 1080 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, the population of red pier town had 14178 registered residence. As of October 2019, 16 administrative villages were under the jurisdiction of red pier Town, and 51 was in the village of Braque, Urdu.

History of construction
In the spring of 1951, it was the second district; in the autumn of the same year, four townships were established, namely, the first township and the second township (now between kuokisazi and utubulak),
Three townships (now sarkhamusi one belt), four townships (now Khan degate Mongolian township).
In the spring of 1954, it was renamed as one district, with jurisdiction over one, two and three townships, and the four townships were assigned to the county.
In 1956, one township and two townships were merged into Fei Township, and three townships were renamed Er township.
In March 1958, after the abolition of the five districts, two townships in the five districts were merged into feiqu, called three townships in one district (now part of cherkeqi township) and four townships (now hongduntastak area); in May of the same year, after the abolition of the district system, four townships were merged into two townships, respectively called Hongdun Township and cherkeqi Township, which were under the jurisdiction of the county; in the autumn of the same year, Hongdun township was changed into Hongdun commune.
In 1966, it was renamed Hongwei commune.
In 1978, it was renamed Hongdun commune.
At the end of 1984, Hongdun township was rebuilt.
On December 6, 2000, the township was withdrawn and Hongdun town was built.

The highest point in the town is Pingdingshan, with an altitude of 570 meters; the lowest point is beidakeng, with an altitude of 480 meters.
