It is adjacent to Huangpu town and Qingyun town in the East, luojiadu town in the south, Laopingshi town in the West and Yizhang County in Hunan Province in the north. The town government is located in shuiniuwan. The administrative area is 271.47 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 64397 people registered residence in Ping Shi. As of June 2020, Pingshi town has jurisdiction over 4 communities and 25 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In 518, Lianghua county was divided into Pingshi County in the north, which is located in Laopingshi County in the northwest of Lechang City.

Sui kaihuang 12 years (592 years), abandoned Pingshi County into Lianghua county.

Ming and Qing dynasties belong to yichua township of Lechang county and converted to Shangdu.

In Tongzhi of Qing Dynasty, Pingshi was one of the eight townships in Lechang.
