Kalatobie Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Nileke County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Nileke County, bordering hujiltai Township in the East, Musi Township across mount Arele in the south, junmachang in the West and kekehothor Mongolian Township in the north, with a total administrative area of 365.61 square kilometers.

History of construction
In October 1958, six agricultural production cooperatives under the jurisdiction of the former three districts merged to establish hongshiyue commune, which was stationed in karatobe.
