Tustobe
Tastobe Township, subordinate to Gongliu County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Gongliu County, adjacent to dongmaili Township in the East, yishigelike mountain in the South and Tekes County in the south, tikearek Township in the West and nilek County in the north, with a total administrative area of 414 square kilometers.
In 1950, it was divided into two districts and five townships; in 1984, it was changed into tastobe township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in tasto village was 24122. In 2019, tastobe governs 10 administrative villages.
In tastobe Township, wheat and corn are the main food crops, and cattle, sheep and poultry are the main animal husbandry. In 2018, there were 5 industrial enterprises in tastobe Township, including 1 enterprise above the designated size and 31 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the 18th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1838), the area was established as a village.
In 1864, it was destroyed by war.
In 1896, some Xibo officers and soldiers moved to Gongliu to build Xibo camp. Xibo canal was dug and built here to build tastobe castle.
In 1903, Xibo camp was transferred and xinmanying moved to settle down here.
In 1950, it was divided into two districts and five townships.
In 1958, Li Hong October commune.
In 1962, the red flag commune was established.
In 1963, it was renamed wugongshe.
In 1964, it was renamed tashtubai commune.
In 1968, the name of red flag commune was restored, with jurisdiction over 5 brigades and 1 community run ranch.
In 1978, it was renamed tastobe commune.
In 1984, tastobe township was replaced by the commune.
