Laika Township
Layika Township, belonging to Hotan County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the middle of Hotan County, on the East Bank of karakashi River, adjacent to buzak Township in the East, langru Township in the south, across the river from Moyu County in the West and bageqi town in the north, covering an area of 52.33 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of the village was 35272.
In June 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of nine districts of Hetian county. In 1955, it was changed into seven districts. In 1958, Yuejin commune was established. In December 1961, it was renamed upstream commune. In 1978, it was renamed Laika commune. In September 1984, the commune was withdrawn to build a township, which was renamed Laika township. In June 2020, Laika township has jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages.
In 2018, there are 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Laika township.
