Xuji Township

Located in the northeast edge of Qaidam Basin, east of Delingha City, Chuji township is adjacent to Shengge township of Tianjun county and saishike township of Wulan County in the East, Keke town and Gahai town of Wulan County in the south, and Keluke town of Delingha city in the west, with a total area of 7738 square kilometers.

From 1725 to the founding of new China, Jingyu was one of the pastures of beiyoumo banner of Heshuote tribe of Mongolian. In November 1988, it was renamed as Xuji township of Delingha city. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence households was 1778. In 2019, there will be one community and six administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Chuji rural area, and the people's government will be stationed in yematan community.

In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises and 3 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Xuji township.

History of construction

From 1725 to the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jingyu was one of the pastures of beiyoumo banner (commonly known as korrozhasak banner) of Heshuote tribe.

In 1956, Chuji township was set up.

In 1958, Chuji commune was established.

In April 1963, guolimu commune and Chuji commune merged to form guolimu commune.

In November 1972, guolimu commune of Wulan county was divided into Xuji commune of Wulan county.

In 1984, it was renamed as Xuji township of Wulan county.

In November 1988, it was renamed as Xuji township of Delingha city.

In 2011, Xuji rural area has jurisdiction over 6 administrative villages including Haote Chahan, gongailigou, chahanhada, wuchahan, taostu and yikela, and 14 herdsmen groups.

In 2019, Xuji rural area governs one community and six administrative villages, including yematan community, Haote Chahan village, chahanhada village, gongailigou village, taostu village, ikla village and wuchahan village. The people's government is stationed in yematan community.

Located in the northeast edge of Qaidam Basin, east of Delingha City, Juji township is adjacent to Shengge township of Tianjun county and saishike township of Wulan County in the East, Keke town and Gahai town of Wulan County in the south, Keluke town of Delingha city in the west, 39 km away from Delingha city where the municipal government is located. The maximum distance from east to west is 92 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 171 km, with a total area of 7738 square kilometers.

History and culture

”"Chuji" is Mongolian, which means "milk fragrant yuan" or "five livestock gathering". It was named after the wild donkey group.
