Yiwa town

Yiwa Town, belonging to Diebu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Diebu County, connecting dianga town in the East, Ruoergai County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province in the southwest, and kaerqin Township and Niba town of Zhuoni County in the north. The area is 365 square kilometers. In 2018, 4836 people registered residence.

In 1958, it was Shangdi District, and yiwa commune was established after the establishment of Diebu county. In 1983, it was changed to yiwa township. In 2017, the township was removed and the town was built. In June 2020, yiwa town governs six administrative villages.

In 2018, yiwa town has two comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Yiwa town is located at the south foot of guanggai mountain, the main peak of Dieshan mountain, with overlapping mountains and crisscross canyons. The South extension of guanggai mountain divides the rural area into two gullies, dangduo and yiwa, with an average altitude of 2600 meters. The main mountain ranges are the main ridge and western extension of Dieshan mountain range. The highest peak, zaleka, is located 3.7km north of yeri village, with an altitude of 4437m; the lowest point is located at the mouth of yiwagoukou, with an altitude of 2440m.
