Weirong town
Weirong Town, belonging to Jingning County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the middle of Jingning County and the middle reaches of Hulu river. It borders zhaodun township of Zhuanglang County in the East, Leida Township in the south, Gangou and Shuangxian Township in the west, Chengchuan and Gucheng Township in the north. The total area of the administrative area is 97 square kilometers, and by the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Wei Rong town was 31096.
Weirong town was named after Weirong fort in the Northern Song Dynasty, which means "deterring the military area". In the Northern Song Dynasty, Weirong fort was built. In the autumn of the fourth year of Shaosheng in the Northern Song Dynasty (1097), Weirong city was built. In the Jin Dynasty, Weirong county was established. In the early Yuan Dynasty, it was abandoned. After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Weirong township. In August 1949, the second district was built. In November 1983, it was changed to Weirong township. In May 1986, it was changed to Weirong town. As of June 2020, Weirong town has jurisdiction over 17 administrative villages.
At the end of 2011, the per capita net income of farmers in Weirong town was 2600 yuan. In 2018, Weirong town has 14 industrial enterprises and 16 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
