Hu Chuan Town, belonging to the Tianshui Hui Autonomous County of Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County, East Lian Gong town, south of Qingmen County, Huang men Township, West to Dayang Township and Qingshui County, pine tree Township, north to Zhangjiachuan Town, with an area of 61.1 square kilometers, and in 2018, 17509 registered residence population.

Historical evolution
In 1949, Zhixiang was under the jurisdiction of Qingshui county.
In 1953, after the establishment of Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous Region, Huchuan township was established.
In 1958, it was incorporated into Zhangjiachuan commune.
In December 1961, Huchuan commune was established.
In December 1983, the commune was transformed into a township.
In December 2003, Shenke village and Houwan village were merged into Huchuan township.
