In 1953, it was the 16th and 17th streets in the first district and the 11th and 12th streets in the second district. In 1955, it was changed into Jiefang Road and Hongen street. In 1959, No.2 street was changed into Linxia management area, belonging to Zhangye road commune. In 1962, it was changed to Linxia road street. In June 2020, Linxia road has jurisdiction over 7 communities.
