Shangzhen is subordinate to Danfeng County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Danfeng County, on the North Bank of Danjiang River, adjacent to longjuzhai street and Caichuan town in the East, Siping town in the south, Dihua town in the west, beikuanping town in Shangzhou District, and Jingcun town in Luonan County in the north. Its total area is 128.23 square kilometers.
Commercial town is a health demonstration town in Shaanxi Province.
As of June 2020, the town has three communities and nine administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town was 31072. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Commercial Towns reached 200 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 185 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 142 million yuan.
Historical evolution
It got its name because it was the fief of Shang Yang in the Warring States period.
In Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties, Jin Dynasty and Song Dynasty, Shangluo county was set up to govern it.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Luoli in the West.
In 1949, it was established as a business town.
In September 1958, it was changed into satellite commune.
In August 1961, it was changed into a commercial commune.
In June 1984, it was transformed into a commercial town.
In May 1997, Dayu township was incorporated.
In June 2011, liuxianping township was incorporated.

Shangzhen has undulating mountains and ravines. In the south, it is along Tianqiao mountain, the main peak of Liuling mountain, in the north, it is along the East-West mountains of mangling branch. In the middle, it is located in the center of Shangdan basin. The terrain is high in the southwest and slightly low in the northeast. The highest elevation of Tianqiao mountain is 1770 meters, and the lowest elevation of Laojun estuary is 580 meters, with a relative elevation difference of 1190 meters.

Water system hydrology
All the rivers in the town belong to the Yangtze River Basin. Danjiang, the main river, runs through the whole territory from west to East. Laojun River, Dayugou River, Wafang River and Heigou river flow into Danjiang in a north-south direction. Yuling reservoir is located in the middle reaches of Laojun River, with an effective storage capacity of 7.69 million cubic meters; mozhangou reservoir is located in the upper reaches of Heigou River, with an effective storage capacity of 700000 cubic meters, which is the main water source for urban industry, agriculture and drinking water.
