Zhongchi town belongs to Shiquan County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the east of Shiquan County, bordering Hotel town of Hanyin County in the East, Chihe town in the south, Chengguan town and Yunwushan town in the west, and Yingfeng town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 13 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 20 kilometers, with a total area of 94.52 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Zhongchi town has 11 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town was 11386. Historical evolution
It is located in the middle reaches of Chi River, so it is named.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Machi Town and houchi township.
In 1951, it was divided into four townships: Donghe, Xihe, Zhonghe and Qingshi.
In 1958, the three townships of Donghe, Xihe and Zhonghe merged to set up the dam management area, and Qingshi Township changed to Qingshi management area.
In 1966, Daba and Qingshi commune were established.
In 1983, Daba commune was changed into Zhongchi Township, and Qingshi commune was changed into Qingshi township.
In 1996, Qingshi township was abolished and merged into Zhongchi township.
In July 2011, Zhongchi town was rebuilt.
