Malian town
Malian Town, belonging to Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southeast of Qian county. It borders Shide town of Liquan County in the East, Mawei street of Xingping City in the south, hehe township of Wugong County in the southwest, Jiangcun town in the West and Xuelu town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 7.1 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 5.9 km, with a total area of 35.77 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Malian town has eight administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence population of Ma Lian Town was 28988. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Malian town reached 48.8 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 87 million yuan, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 3 million yuan, an increase of 8% over the previous year.
Historical evolution
The village was named Malin village because it was located at the edge of Pinus massoniana forest in Beishan Mountain at the beginning, and later evolved into Malian village. Malian town was named after the village where the town people's government was stationed.
In yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Zhao Heli.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to King Xue Lianbao.
In 1949, after the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to xuewang district (three districts).
In March 1956, Malian township was established by withdrawing the district and merging the township.
In September 1958, the three townships of Malian, Xuelu and Daqiang were merged into a satellite commune.
In 1961, Daxian county was withdrawn, and satellite commune was divided into Xuelu commune and Daqiang commune. Malian was subordinate to Xuelu commune.
In May 1971, Malian commune was established.
In 1984, it was changed to Malian township.
In 1998, the township was withdrawn to build Malian town.
