Historical evolution
Originally known as "Di Zhang Wan", it was named after the Zhang family who moved from the north slope of Di Zhang to the inside of Po Xia Wan, and later evolved into "Di Zhang".
In May 1949, Beigao District Office was set up, under the jurisdiction of five townships, of which three townships are under the jurisdiction of present Dizhang, namely Yancun Township, shangzhao Township and chenma township.
In August 1958, Weicheng commune was established in the merging township of Xianyang county. The territory of Dizhang is divided into the sixth and seventh administrative areas of Weicheng commune, the sixth administrative area is Sunjia village, and the seventh administrative area is Hanjia village.
In May 1984, the commune was changed into Dizhang township.
In 1998, Dizhang township was changed into Dizhang town.
In August 2011, it was renamed Dizhang street.
