Wangmang street, belonging to Chang'an District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southeast of Chang'an District. In ancient times, it was a place for royal hunting. Later, it got its name because Wang Mang chased Liu Xiu through here.

In April 1961, it was changed into Wangmang commune.
In September 1966, it was renamed Hongguang commune.
In September 1971, it was renamed Wangmang commune.
