geographical position
In history, although it was close to Sanggan River, it could not make use of the river water. It only depended on LIULENGSHAN mountain, where the flood and silt were clear. The land was relatively fertile and tolerant to flood and drought. Before 1965, the average grain yield was about 70 kg per mu. In 1960, with the support of the state, the luanshi irrigation area was built. By 1978, the actual irrigated area was 8256 mu, accounting for 29% of the cultivated land. In 1982, it reached nearly 18000 mu. In 1986, 16000 mu of irrigated land was consolidated. The total output of the township was 2.37 million kg in 1949, increased to 7.02 million kg in 1978, and increased to 8.32 million kg in 1982. In 1986, the total output of the county was still increased to 9.07 million kg under the condition of severe drought. The yield per mu is 431kg. That's six times what it was before 1965. In 1990, the total yield was 9.735 million kg, reaching 412 kg per mu. In 1984, song Xiqing, a 43 year old farmer in luanshi village, cultivated 1.14 mu of Zhongdan No.2 corn with a yield of 1143.55 kg per mu, which won the highest record of the same variety in China. Under the guidance of Xie Biao, Secretary of the Party committee, the township jointly implemented the unified scientific and technological management of ten thousand mu of corn, and the yield per mu exceeded one thousand jin. This experiment won the second prize of Shanxi Province Science and Technology Progress Award in 1986. In the following years, over 1000 kg of corn per mu was achieved, and some tons of grain fields were built.
agricultural development
There is a tradition of cultivating apricot, fruit and plum trees. Aoshi's black plum is famous far and near. In the 1970s, orchards were built in every village, and apple and pear trees were cultivated in large areas. In recent years, grapes were developed, becoming the second fruit producing area in Yanggao. In 1979, there were 3319 Mu orchards in the township, and in 1990, there were 9327 Mu orchards. The output of fruit increased from 330000 kg in 1979 to 1.1 million kg, accounting for one fourth of the total output of the county. Among them, the apple output is 462000 kg, accounting for 38% of the county's total Apple output; the pear output is 260000 kg, accounting for 37% of the county's total pear output. In addition to the state-owned poplar forest farm, there are 10000 mu of forests in the township. The poplar trees planted on the four sides are tall and straight. The whole township is lush and green, with luxuriant forests and abundant grain. In 1990, there were 1703 large livestock, including 979 cattle, 1077 pigs and 4040 sheep. In 1983, ximaying village planted a large area of green peppers with sufficient water and fertilizer, and got a good harvest. It entered the vegetable market of Haidian District in Beijing. Since then, green peppers, peppers and tomatoes were planted in a large area in the whole Township, and nearly ten million kilograms of vegetables were sold to Beijing and Tianjin every year.
