Baqing County governs the township. Located in the southwest of the county, east of the town of miscellaneous. The permanent resident population is 2262 (the sixth census in 2010). In 1960, it was established as a township, belonging to Benso district. The commune was changed in 1971. In 1988, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. The original a Xiu Township, benmei Township and Bawu village were merged into a Xiu township. In 1996, with a population of about 2000, it has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, including Jiuda, bengqian, chachatang, bosongtang, Zerao, niangqiong, zhuruma, dazatang, baitangjiu and suochouku. The township government is stationed in chachatang (it has jurisdiction over 11 villages, including Jiuda, abenqing, yirongtang, bosongda, Zerao, dazzada, baixiaotang, duojitang, niahe, Zhuhe and Suozhu, and is stationed in yirongtang). Baqing County governs the township. Before 1971, it was a township under the jurisdiction of bensuo district government. In the same year, it was changed into a commune. In 1982, it was changed into a township again. In 1988, it merged with benmei Township, the original Bawu village, into a Xiu township. The township government is stationed in Chatang. 70 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 800 square kilometers and has a population of 2000. It has jurisdiction over 10 village committees, namely, Jiuda village, bengqian village, chachatang village, bosongtang village, Zerao village, niangqiong village, zhuruma village, dazatang village, baitangjiu village and suochouku village.
