Mujiayu town

Mujiayu town is located in the north east of Miyun District, connected with Miyun reservoir, in the transition zone of plain and mountain area, with forest coverage rate of 55%. Chaohe River flows through our town from east to west. National Highway 101 runs through the whole town. Beijing Chengde railway and Beijing Chengde Expressway pass through our town. Beijing Chengde expressway has two exits (mujiayu and xin'anzhuang) in our town. The town is 70km away from Beijing, 40km away from capital airport and 110km away from Chengde.

Mujiayu town covers a total area of 102 square kilometers (about 153000 mu), with 28013 mu of registered cultivated land, including 18860 mu of basic farmland, 0.65 mu per capita; 9153 mu of general farmland, 0.35 mu per capita; and about 80% of the town is shallow hills. (the town has 22 administrative villages and 49 natural villages, with a permanent population of 30566 (2017).

Mujiayu town actively promotes the development of ecological agriculture industry according to the deployment of the district Party committee and the district government. The town government launched the project of Qianliyuan village ecological agriculture sightseeing park. Historical evolution

Mujiayu commune was established in 1965, changed to district in 1983, set up Township in 1987 and established town in 1993. In 1996, it covers an area of 102.8 square kilometers and has a population of 31000.
