Beibeng Village

Beibeng Township, located in the southwest of Motuo County, Linzhi City, Tibet Autonomous Region, is a township under the jurisdiction of Motuo County, Linzhi City, Tibet Autonomous Region, with subtropical climate.

Historical evolution

In 1881 (the seventh year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), zabu suonanjenyang, the king of Bomi, established didongzong (similar to the present county, later changed to motuozong) in Didong of baimagang, which is under the jurisdiction of didongzong in Beibeng township.

In 1931 (the 20th year of the Republic of China), the local government of Tibet directly controlled the areas under the rule of the former king of Bomi, including Motuo. Motuo was divided into three parts. The Motuo area, Jinzhu area and Bangxin area were divided into sera temple in Lhasa, songzong temple in Bomi and qingduo temple. Each temple sent its own clan to manage them. The sera Temple established Motuo sect in Motuo area, and today Beibeng Township belongs to Motuo Until 1962.

It used to be Beibeng district and was changed to township after 1988.

Didongzong (county)

East Village, the central area where the government is located, is now close to the Indian line of control. In 1881, the local government of Tibet established Didong Village (now one of the three sects in Motuo County). In 1919, it moved to the seat of Motuo County and changed its name to Motuo sect.

Jinzhuzong

It was the first Zong (county) to be set up, and now Gedang township is set up as the governing post. The other two are Didong sect and galangyang sect.

It is located in Didong village near McMahon line in Motuo County.

Galangyangzong

In 1905, the two villages of AMI and Jidao, located in the lower reaches of Didong village, are now under the actual control of India to the south of McMahon line. Amie and Jidao have become larger settlements. At a gentle place along the Yarlung Zangbo River, India has opened up a simple military airport with a runway about 1.3km long and an altitude of 471m. Menba people occupied the relatively livable valley of Motuo, while the original owners of Loba people retreated to the hillside. Similar to the Miao people in Guizhou, most of them live on the riverside, while the Dong people live on the mountain.

In 2007, there were 329 households and 2042 people in Beibeng Township, which is basically the Menba nationality.

The total length of the route is 23.495km. It is constructed as a class IV Highway. The width of the subgrade is 5.5m, the width of the pavement is 4.5m, the shoulder (2 × 0.5m) is C20 concrete hardened soil shoulder, and the pavement structure is "subgrade + 15cm natural gravel + 20cm thick C30 concrete pavement".

In January 2017, the road from Beibeng township to Didong village was completed, with a total length of 9.4 km and a class IV gravel road, with a total investment of 140 million yuan, solving the traffic problem of 597 people in 108 households in Didong village of Beibeng township.

In January 2017, beibenghuan village hardening project was completed, with a total length of 1.2 km and a total investment of 2.81 million yuan.
