Qiuwo Township

Qiuwo township is located 30 kilometers to the east of ANGREN county. The seriously ill areas of Kashin Beck are mainly distributed in eight administrative villages, including danglong, Tongmen and Kangsa. There are 49 families and 274 people with Kashin Beck disease. Long term illness, so that the masses here live in pain and poverty.

the Kaschin Beck disease relocation project in qiuwo township of ANGREN county was implemented at the end of 2004. The fourth group of Zibo Tibet aid cadres working in ANGREN county took out the Tibet aid funds as supporting funds to ensure the smooth progress of production and life after the relocation of the masses.

Economy of qiuwo Township

According to the principle of people's voluntariness, the relocation is carried out in two phases in four villages and counties with relatively good conditions, such as banatang, qicuo and Xingtang. 49 households were relocated, with a total investment of 3.1455 million yuan, including 2.303 million yuan from the state and 842500 yuan from Tibet. The 274 people from 49 households came from 8 different villages, and the concentrated relocation site was named Zibo new village by the masses. The first phase of the project was completed in October 2005. The house structure is a Tibetan stone wood structure, which is arranged and constructed according to the Tibetan tradition. The per capita housing area is 26 square meters. We have reclaimed 400 mu of land, built 25 straw sheds and 25 cattle and sheep sheds, solved the infrastructure construction of drinking water, power supply and farmland irrigation for human and livestock, realized the three-way connection of water and electricity, and implemented basic living subsidies for all relocated households for three years. Landless resettlement should be carried out for the relocated households in the county seat, which should be included in the scope of urban minimum living allowance, so that they can do business in better places near the street. The cadres also provided each household with a color TV and a set of solar panels, solar cookers and solar water heaters. The second phase of the project will start in early 2007.
