Historical evolution
In August 1968, the military control committee of Dehong Prefecture agreed to set up the Revolutionary Committee of Longchuan County. On this basis, the Revolutionary Committee of Luliang district and the Revolutionary Committee of bangwai township of Longchuan County were set up. In March 1969, the outpost commune was established, which has jurisdiction over the outpost brigade, the army supporting brigade and the innovation brigade. In September 1971, Longchuan County Revolutionary Committee changed the name of commune and brigade. The outpost commune was changed into a foreign commune, the outpost brigade into a foreign commune, the army supporting brigade into a Luliang brigade, and the innovation brigade into a Hudao brigade. In March 1984, the rural system was reformed, and the commune management committee was transformed into a foreign district office. It has five townships under its jurisdiction: Lvliang Township, bangwai Township, Hudao Township, Long'an Township and bangwan township. In January 1988, yunzhenghan (1988) No. 94 "the reply of Yunnan Provincial People's Government on the organizational system of Longchuan County, district and township" was adopted to cancel the establishment of Nongba town in other districts. It has five offices: Luliang, bangwai, Hudao, Long'an and bangwan. In 1991, the town government officially relocated and began to prepare for the construction. In January 1990, "Nongba town" was changed to "Longba town". In 2000, the town changed its five offices into five village committees.
Characteristic industry
Longba town is a typical agricultural town which combines mountain and dam. It has unique natural three-dimensional climate and land resources for developing ecological agriculture and green economy. For many years, Longba town has taken sugarcane, rice and other primary industries as the pillar industries. Due to the single and unreasonable structure, the pace of agricultural efficiency and farmers' income increase in the town is very slow. In order to optimize the structure of agricultural industry, loquat has been introduced into Longba town since 2001. As the loquat plants grown in the town have better growth adaptability, fruit flavor and quality than those in the original place, the fresh fruit supply period is in the off-season, which is highly praised by consumers. The supply exceeds the demand, and has been exported to both inside and outside the province. Loquat has become a "cash cow" for local people. It is estimated that in early 2004, the income per mu of loquat orchard with fruit bearing is no less than 1000 yuan. By the end of 2006, the income per mu of loquat orchard with fruit bearing is 6000-8000 yuan. Under the strong advocacy of Longba town Party committee and government, loquat planting has radiated from Hudao village committee to surrounding villages, and the loquat base with more than 5000 mu continuous planting has developed rapidly. In order to meet the needs of large-scale production and market economy, the loquat professional association, a village level economic association, was established in Longba town in 2005. The villagers directly elected the association team according to the constitution of the economic association, and all members participated in the management. In 2007, the total output of loquat was 198 tons. According to the average market price of 16 yuan / kg, the total income of loquat was 3.618 million yuan.
