Mengyang farm is located in the north of Jinghong County, with a total area of 32060 mu. It has been reclaimed and utilized for 28400 mu, including 24776 mu of rubber garden, 1257 mu of tea garden, 308 mu of orchard, 534 mu of production water surface, 1015 mu of cultivated land, and a total construction area of 123014 square meters.
Development status
In October 1956, the leading group of the farm was established. In January 1957, Mengyang farm was officially established and renamed Mengyang farm in June. In January 1964, it was merged with dadugang animal husbandry farm and Guanping farm and renamed Mengyang general farm. It has jurisdiction over Yinhe, Rongshu, Jinshan, Guanping and dadugang farms. In 1970, the "BINGTUAN" was established and renamed as one division and three regiments, with jurisdiction over five battalions. In October 1974, the "BINGTUAN" was abolished and the system of agricultural reclamation, namely Mengyang farm, was restored. In 1980, Guanping and dadugang were divided into two groups, and the two groups were abolished. The two groups were managed by farms and production teams, with 22 production teams under their jurisdiction. There are party office, bank office, financial planning, supply and marketing, labor and wage, production, machinery and transportation, industrial infrastructure, organization, publicity and education in the farm. There are 18 departments including security, nationality, youth, health, court, Discipline Inspection Commission and trade union. The total population is 6000, including 2823 women, accounting for 47%, 3018 employees and 11101 retirees. In the total population, there are 771 ethnic minorities, accounting for 25.5%.
The site is located in the South Subtropical Mountainous Area with an altitude of 714-1089 meters. The annual average temperature is 20.8 ℃, the maximum temperature is 39 ℃, and the minimum temperature is 1.4 ℃. The annual rainfall is 1155.7mm and the average annual sunshine is 18679 hours. The soils in the site include lateritic purple soil, brown soil, alluvial soil and paddy soil.
In 1993, there were 24776 Mu rubber plantations with 616400 plants, 19762 Mu open cutting with 396100 plants, producing 1615.48 tons of dry rubber, with an average yield of 71.4 kg per mu. The output value of dry rubber is 11.0293 million yuan, accounting for 64.4% of the total industrial and agricultural output value. There is a standard rubber factory with a daily processing capacity of 12 tons. In 1974 and 1976, two chilling damages caused serious damage to rubber plantations, and the preservation rate reached 27%. After summing up the experience of the farm, the new rubber plantations were divided into districts, and the strains were allocated according to local conditions, with the cold resistant strain GTI as the main and RRIM600 as the auxiliary, so that the new rubber plantations could adapt to the environment and develop steadily.
The farm also grows tea, fruit and rice. In 1993, there were 2151 mu tea gardens, 1406 mu of which were put into production, and 43.44 tons of dry tea were produced; 308 Mu fruits, 36.8 tons of which were produced; 199 Mu herbaceous fruits, 132.2 tons of which were produced; 539 Mu rice, 184.48 tons of which were produced, and 342 kg per mu.
The main industries are cement, brick and tile, tea making, etc. Cement is a major enterprise. It was put into production in 1989 and produced 112334 tons of cement in 1993. Brick and tile production began when the site was built. In 1983, it was changed to mechanical production, with an annual output of 600000-2 million bricks and an annual output of 616400 bricks in 1993. The tea factory was established in 1989 as a preliminary tea factory with an annual production capacity of 15 tons. In 1990, it was expanded to an annual output of 30 tons. In 1993, it produced 43.44 tons of tea, with a total production capacity of 129.43 tons.
