Pingdian Township, located in the suburb of Xinping County, is located in the middle of provincial highway 218 and national highway 213, adjacent to Tadian town of Eshan County in the East, Dingju, laobaidian and Guishan town in Yangwu town in the south, Xini and Yaojie town in Mosha town in the west, and dianmo and Zheza in Xinhua Town in the north. The township government is located at 23 Xiyuan Road, Guishan town.
Yiyi Mountains lie in the west, Wugui Mountains lie in the north, Mopan mountains and Wuya Mountains lie in the south. There are numerous mountains, pleasant climate, beautiful scenery, rich forest resources and grassland resources in the territory; the terrain in the rural area is complex, with the highest altitude of 2614 meters at the main peak of Mopan Mountain and the lowest altitude of 700 meters at the foot of dachamo mountain in xiaoshigang village; due to the dual regulation of moshabazi hot air and high mountain forest vegetation, it has an obvious vertical three-dimensional climate, with an annual sunshine of 2230 hours and an average annual sunshine of 2 300 hours The temperature is 17.9 ℃, the maximum temperature is 33 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1151.9 mm, and the frost free period is more than 320 days. The township is mainly agricultural, rich in rice, corn, wheat, lotus root, flue-cured tobacco, sugarcane and other crops, of which: tobacco, animal husbandry is the economic pillar industry of Pingdian township. The land area of the township is 435.6 square kilometers.
Historical evolution
Pingdian, in Yi language, means the silver gray xiaopingba. In the Song Dynasty, it was the land of gan'e and belonged to Xiushan County. Yuan Xianzong time (AD 1251-1259) for a thousand households in E. Li ningzhou (now Huaning) wanhufu. In 1276 A.D., Pingdian county was established, which was under the jurisdiction of the county and was subordinate to the state of gan'e. In the 26th year (1289 AD), ga'e Prefecture was reduced to a county, and Pingdian county was reduced to a township. It was still under the jurisdiction of Pingdian Township, ga'e County, and was transferred to Lin'an road. In the 19th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1591 AD), when Xinping County was established, it was under the jurisdiction of the county. In 1909, the county was divided into five districts, namely central, Eastern, southern, Western and Northern. After 1933, the county was renamed the first district. At the beginning of the founding of new China in 1949, when the township government was established, it was divided into Ninghe, Pingshan and Changyuan. In 1950, Pingdian township was called the first district. In 1958, it was divided into Gucheng and Changyuan commune. In 1960, Gucheng and Changyuan commune were merged into Chengguan commune. In 1962, it was called Chengguan District. 1964, also known as the first district. It was renamed Qianjin commune in 1966. In January 1984, it was called suburb. in June 1984, it was renamed Pingdian district. Pingdian township was changed to Pingdian Township in December 1987, with 16 village offices under its jurisdiction. In April 1998, it was divided into 13 village offices. Taiping, Gucheng and Yani of Pingdian Township were assigned to Guishan town. In December 1999, the village office was changed into a village committee. In 2002, Pingdian Township had 13 villager committees, 139 villager groups and 178 natural villages.
geographical environment
Pingdian township is characterized by rugged surface, continuous mountains, crisscross rivers, high mountains and steep slopes, which is a "V" shaped deep cut mountain original landform. The terrain is high in the north and south, low in the East and West, and the mountains are east-west. The maximum distance between East and West is 30 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 29.4 km, covering an area of 435.6 square kilometers. The main mountain ranges are Mopan Mountain (2614 meters above sea level), guangtou mountain (2442 meters above sea level), Huashitou mountain (2438 meters above sea level), Niutoushan mountain (2389 meters above sea level), ludemo mountain (2368 meters above sea level), Yingpan mountain (2300 meters above sea level), anudaihoushan mountain (2262 meters above sea level), luomabaipi mountain (2178 meters above sea level), litoujian mountain (2172 meters above sea level), baihetang Houshan mountain (2148 meters above sea level) Among them, Mopan Mountain is the highest. The main rivers flowing through are: Pingdian River, also known as Xinping River, mainly comes from the Tala River and comes from the West foot of the main peak of Mopan Mountain. From south to north, huisuoke River and Qingshui River enter pingdianbazi, then converge with yibenjia River, flow eastward to join Yani River, and flow through Yangwu Damen to join Huanian River and luolu River, with a total length of about 60 km. Kangzhikang river originates from the north foot of Feijia guangtou mountain. From west to East, it flows through Feijia, taokong, Baihe, zhidianhui Yangliu River, turns southeast and flows into Yani river. It flows into Pingdian river at Chahe village, with a total length of about 20 km and a flow length of 19.83 km. Yangliu river is 8.6 km long. The Suok river is 17.3 km long. The Tala river is 12.8 km long. Qingshui River is 8.35 km long. the suitable crops are rice, corn, wheat, lotus root, beans, potato, etc., the economic crops are tobacco, sugarcane, etc., the oil crops are peanut, rape, etc., and the economic trees are tea, peach, pear, walnut, etc.
Economics
Rice is the main form of rural economy. At the end of 2007, the total social output value (current price) of the township was 149670000 yuan, an increase of 33.4% over the previous year. The total industrial and agricultural output value (current price) was 128 million yuan, an increase of 36.1% over the previous year, including 104 million yuan of agricultural output value, an increase of 46.4% over the previous year, and 24 million yuan of industrial output value, an increase of 4.2% over the previous year. Fiscal revenue was 9.8183 million yuan, an increase of 9.6% over the previous year; fiscal expenditure was 10.2744 million yuan, an increase of 51.8% over the previous year. Agriculture

The main industries in Pingdian township are tobacco, animal husbandry and sugarcane. 1、 Flue cured tobacco production in 2006, the idea of flue-cured tobacco production in the whole township is: "scientific planning, optimizing area, updating concept, strengthening measures, improving quality and increasing income".
