GAODA Dai and Yi nationality township is located in the south of Tonghai County. It is connected with Qujiang town of Jianshui County in the East, longpeng and shaochong in Shiping County in the west, Jiujie town and Lishan Township in the north. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 15 km, and the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 12.8 km. The mountains are undulating and crisscross in the territory, belonging to mountainous and valley areas.

GAODA Dai and Yi nationality township is located in the south of Tonghai County, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. It is connected with Qujiang town of Jianshui County in the East, longpeng and shaochong in Shiping County in the west, Jiujie town and Lishan Township in the north. It is 143 km away from Kunming City, 65 km away from Yuxi City, and 18 km away from Tonghai County. the township covers an area of 110 square kilometers, of which the mountainous area accounts for 91.12%, and the river valley dam area accounts for 8.88%. The highest altitude is 1895 meters and the lowest is 1350 meters. Longtan, rivers, reservoirs and ponds are scattered all over the world, with abundant water resources. It is known as "a blessed land for thousands of miles, with three rivers flowing into the river in front of the gate". The township government is 18 kilometers away from the county seat, with an average annual temperature of 17.4 ℃, rainfall of 973.5 mm and frost free period of 299 days, which is suitable for the growth of various crops. GAODA township is not only a gateway to southern Yunnan, but also a "natural greenhouse" for subtropical crops in Tonghai County. It mainly produces rice, Baogu, wheat, rape, sugarcane and various early winter vegetables. Its well-known local products include Chinese yam, ginger, lotus root, sweet pepper and citrus.
Historical evolution
It belongs to Tonghai County. Nanlu town was built in December 1949. In March 1950, it was merged with Nanping township (now Lishan township) to form the fourth district. After the people's commune was changed, it was changed into pucong commune. In 1962, the commune was changed into District, and pucong and Lishan were merged into four districts. In March 1969, the commune was changed into GAODA commune. In 1984, the commune was changed into GAODA commune, which has jurisdiction over 6 townships and 36 agricultural production cooperatives. In 1987, the district was withdrawn to build a township, which is called GAODA Dai Yi township. It has six village offices, 38 natural villages and 39 agricultural production cooperatives. In 1999, the village construction committee was withdrawn, and there were six villagers' committees and 39 villagers' groups, namely, Guanyin, WuJie, pucong, Daiban, GAODA and Lunan.
Geographical features
GAODA township is composed of two landforms: Valley and Zhongshan. The terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 15 km, and the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 12.8 km. The total area of GAODA township is 110 square kilometers, of which the mountainous area accounts for 91.12%, and the valley dam area accounts for 8.88%. The main mountain ranges are xiaohongpo mountain, naodazi mountain, Dasongshu mountain, shishizi naonao mountain, Laoheishan, etc. Laoheishan is the highest with an altitude of 2040 meters. The main rivers are Qujiang River, Kunan River and Lunan river. The inner diameter of the township area is 138.6 square kilometers, of which the inflow of Qujiang River is 418 million cubic meters and the outflow is 533 million cubic meters. With an annual average temperature of 17.4 degrees, Tonghai is a "natural greenhouse" for planting early winter vegetables and off-season vegetables. It is planted with a variety of special vegetables such as Chinese yam, ginger, lotus root, sugarcane and pepper, as well as oranges, loquats, pears and peaches.

Control of No.5 disease of large livestock
On July 13, 1999, No.5 disease (foot and mouth disease) occurred in the first and second communities of Daiban village, involving 54 large livestock and 91 farmers. The township party committee and government attached great importance to it. On July 15, they began to organize cadres and workers of townships, villages, groups and government organs to coordinate relevant departments to take timely measures to kill, burn and bury to prevent infection. A total of 213 people were mobilized and more than 40 vehicles were used. Over 20 days, 142 large livestock, 68 sheep and 2 pigs were killed, resulting in a direct economic loss of 130000 yuan.
Introduction of new varieties

In 1992, the township tobacco research group succeeded in planting spring tobacco.
