Historical evolution
In 1913, Luomian Township belonged to the northern district. In 1932, Shibangou, the enclave of Lufeng County, was under the jurisdiction of the North District of Fumin County. In 1932, the North District was changed to Xinglong Town and still under the jurisdiction of Luomian district. In 1950, it belonged to the northern district. In 1951, the North District was changed into three districts, still under the jurisdiction of Luomian district. In November of the same year, it was divided into three districts: maijiaying, qiaodishan, lashuitian, Zhuangfang and so on. In December of 1952, it belonged to one district. In 1955, Xiaodian township was divided into four villages: Jijie, Sagala, zongguanying and Xiaodian in Wuding county. In 1956, Luomian, Xiaodian, Xihe, zehe, nuozhi, Shibangou and maijiaying were merged into Luomian township. In the autumn of 1958, it belonged to the innovation commune, and in October it was returned to the Fumin commune. Four villages, including Xiaodian and Jijie, were returned to Wuding county. In March of the next year, the reform commune was set up separately. In 1961, it was changed into Zhebei commune, which still governs Luomian area. Luomian commune was established in 1962, with six production brigades under its jurisdiction. In 1972, the former Xiaodian and Madi villages were once again assigned to Fumin County, belonging to the two production brigades of Luomian commune. In April 1984, the commune was changed into District, and in February 1988, the district was changed into Luomian Yi and Miao township. By the end of 1992, it had a total area of 101 square kilometers, involving 2225 households and 9423 people. The township government was located in daluomian village, with jurisdiction over 2 semi mountainous areas, 6 mountainous areas, 8 offices, 69 natural villages and 73 cooperatives. In 1997, it covers an area of 101 square kilometers with a population of 9000. In 2017, it covers an area of 125 square kilometers with a population of 14927.
