Defeng Street

Defeng street is a street under the jurisdiction of Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is located in the southeast of Guizhou, adjacent to Hunan and Guangxi provinces (regions). It is the only way for Liping to contact Hunan and Guangxi. It is also the political, economic, cultural, transportation, information and business center of Liping County. Formerly known as Defeng Town, it was withdrawn from the town and set up streets in February 2014.

History of construction

Defeng street, formerly known as Defeng Town, began to take "Defeng" as its district name as early as 1955. In 1984, Defeng commune and Chengguan Town merged into Defeng town. in February 2014, Defeng town was abolished and Defeng street was set up. on August 2, 2019, the people's Government of Guizhou Province approved the establishment of Longxing street from Defeng street. Two villages in 9 communities, including sanshijiang and goudong village, were under the jurisdiction of Longxing street.

The average altitude in Defeng street is 550 meters, the annual average temperature is 15-16 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1321 mm, and the frost free period is 270-280 days. The location advantage of Defeng is very obvious, and the transportation is very convenient. Liping bus station has long-term direct service to Wenzhou, Ningbo and Yuhuan in Zhejiang, Jingzhou, Huaihua, Shaoyang, Zhuzhou and Changsha in Hunan, Sanjiang, Guilin and Liuzhou in Guangxi, Dongguan in Guangdong, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shijiazhuang in Hebei, Taizhou in Jiangsu and Quanzhou in Fujian. the traffic network with Defeng as the center radiates the whole Prefecture and all townships (towns) in the county. There are more than 700 kinds of trees such as pine, fir, camphor and ginkgo. There are hundreds of medicinal materials such as Eucommia ulmoides and Gastrodia elata. Placer gold, limestone, silica and other minerals are very rich. there are "Liping conference site" of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, "Lianghu guild hall" and complete Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient buildings, ancient city gate and other cultural relics and historic sites in the city. In the south of the city, Nanquan mountain has verdant ancient trees, temples and pavilions, and the scenery is charming. There are 17462.23 mu of cultivated land in Defeng street, including 16650.97 mu of paddy field. It mainly produces rice, rape, peanut, corn, soybean, tea, Chinese herbal medicine and so on. It is a typical agricultural town in mountainous area. In 2003, the gross national product of the town was 125.48 million yuan, the total grain output was 8510 tons, the per capita grain output was 375 kg, the per capita net income of farmers was 1588 yuan, and the fiscal revenue was 5.556 million yuan. Party building, spiritual civilization, democracy and the legal system were further strengthened, and all undertakings developed in a healthy and coordinated way.
