Yuankou Town, subordinate to Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province, is located in the southeast of Tianzhu County, 27 kilometers away from the county. The town governs 20 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 288 villager groups, 6188 households, with a total population of 28032, of which the Miao and Dong nationalities account for more than 98%.

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Yuankou town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

Yuankou town of Tianzhu County has a long history, and Qingshuijiang has a rich history and culture. Yueshanbei site is located in yueshanbei formation, cormorant village, Yuankou Town, with a thickness of 2.2 meters. Archaeologists collected nearly 100 pieces of chipped stone, stone tools and pottery in four cultural layers: Modern accumulation layer, gray brown sand layer and gray sand layer. The stone products are all made of gravel, most of which are stone flakes, and the shape of which are choppers and scrapers. The pieces are crisp and fine. Cormorant site is located near cormorant middle school in Yuankou Town, covering an area of about 1000 square meters, facing the yueshanbei site across the river. On the tiankan section, the archaeologists collected Brown pottery pieces with sand and beaten stone pieces. There are two kinds of pottery pieces, yellow brown and black brown, with coarse sand, low temperature and crisp texture. The second step of stone tools processing is a little hasty. Xinshi site is located near huilong'an, Xinshi village, Yuankou Town, covering an area of about 800 square meters.
