Yantang township is located in the south of Dejiang County, Guizhou Province. The township government is about 5 kilometers away from the county. It is connected with Gonghe Township in the East, Sinan County in the south, Hexing Township and Jiancha town in the west, and Qinglong Town in the north. The township government is located in the horizontal village, 718 meters above sea level. The township governs 14 administrative villages and 112 villager groups, covering an area of 10000 hectares, including 1719 hectares of cultivated land, 2981 hectares of forest land and 2830 hectares of pastoral land. Yantang township has a population of 16000.

Yantang Tujia township is located in the southeast of Dejiang County, adjacent to Gonghe Township in the East, Donghua township of Sinan County in the south, Hexing Township and Jiancha town in the southwest, and Qinglong Town in the north. The township government is located in meiziba formation of Xianfeng village, 6 kilometers away from the county. The total area of the township is 101.75 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 768 meters. The terrain in the territory is irregular. In the southeast, the terrain is high, with undulating mountains and overlapping mountains. The landform is high mountains and hills. In the northwest, the terrain is low, and the mountains move in a straight line. There is a wide basin between the foothills. The highest altitude is 1320 meters and the lowest is 652 meters. According to the geographical conditions, the township can be roughly divided into three natural areas, namely zhujiagou area, Yantang area and Luqing area. The township has 31700 mu of arable land, including 16400 mu of farmland, 15300 mu of soil, 65400 mu of forest land, 18700 mu of pasture land and 765 mu of water area. It has a mid subtropical monsoon climate with abundant rainfall. The annual sunshine hours are 931.5 hours, the average annual temperature is between 15.82 ℃ and 11 ℃, the effective accumulated temperature is 4764 degrees, the frost free period is 296 days, and the annual precipitation is about 1251 mm. Historical evolution
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Anhua County was transformed into Dejiang County, and the whole county was reorganized into nine districts, with zhujiagou (formerly Longtang) in the Central District, Yantang in the East Second District, and Luqing in the East first district. In 1940, the whole county was changed into 18 townships. Zhujiagou (formerly Longtang) was merged into Wenxin Township, Yantang into Gonghe Township, and Luqing into Chaodi township. In 1950, the county was divided into five districts and 18 townships (towns). Longtang was subordinate to Yuxi Town, Yantang to Gonghe Township, and the first district (Chengguan) was the same. Luqing was subordinate to Chaodi Township, and the third district was the same. In 1953, big township was removed and small township was built. Longtang township was set up and it was subordinate to Chengguan District, Yantang township was set up and it was subordinate to Gonghe district. In 1956, the administrative division was adjusted. Yantang township was allocated to Chengguan District, and Luqing township was incorporated into Chaodi district. In September 1961, the grand commune was restored to the District, and the management area was changed to the people's commune. Longtang and Yantang people's communes were subordinate to Chengguan District, and Luqing was assigned to Zhongba commune, which was subordinate to Chaodi district. Lu Qing commune was set up in 1963, people's commune was renamed Township in 1984, and Longtang township was renamed zhujiagou township. In 1988, zhujiagou, Yantang and Luqing successively established Tujia townships. at the end of October 1992, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. Three small townships, zhujiagou, Yantang and Luqing, were abolished and merged into Yantang Tujia Township, which has jurisdiction over 14 village committees. The former Yantang Township People's government is located in meiziba, the new Yantang Tujia Township People's Government. in 2008, small villages were merged into big villages, and the whole township was merged into five village committees. In 2010, the village was abolished and restored to 14 village committees and communities (among which the horizontal village was changed to the horizontal community).
