History of construction

In December 1991, the district was withdrawn and the township was built into a town. Five villages under the jurisdiction of the former Liwo Township, Dagu Township and Caishui Township were merged to build Liwo township. In 2011, the Liwo residents committee was added.

In December 2013, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved the withdrawal of Liwo Township and the establishment of Liwo town in Qingzhen City.
