Maijia town
Maijia Town, belonging to Baiyun District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is located in the northwest of Baiyun District. It is connected with shawen town and shashashao farm in the East, Gaoshan village, dashandong village and Caoguan village in Yanshanhong town in the south, Zhuchang town in Wudang District in the West and Zhongshao village in Longchang town in Xiuwen County in the north, 4550 meters away from the district government. The total area is 46.81 square kilometers.
In 1983, Maijia township was established by Yanshanhong commune. In 2002, Maijia township was changed into Maijia town. By the end of 2018, the population of Maichang town registered residence was 33497. In 2020, Maijia town governs 14 administrative villages, and the people's government is located in Daba community, Baiyun District. In 2018, there were 365 industrial enterprises in Maijia Town, of which 27 were large-scale and 41 were comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
In 2014, Maijia town entered the Ministry of housing and urban rural development, national development and Reform Commission, Ministry of finance, Ministry of land and resources, Ministry of agriculture, Ministry of civil affairs, Ministry of science and technology, and announced the list of national key towns.
Evolution of organizational system
In Qing Dynasty, most of them belonged to xixiali of Guizhu County, some belonged to maisili of Guiyang Prefecture, and a few belonged to xiyuli of Guizhu county.
From 1914 to 1941, zhuguan, sunguan and Shenguan townships, located in the present town, belonged to the eighth District of Guiyang County (formerly Beiyi District), and Baimao Township belonged to the Ninth District of Guiyang County (formerly Beier District).
In July 1941, after Guiyang was established as a city, it was transferred to Baiyun District of Guizhu county. The above townships and the three townships of Baiyun Town, Nangao Township, Zhongba Township, Caoguan Township and Duxi, Jinle and Fenghuang in today's Yanshanhong town were merged into Baiyun township.
In 1952, Maijia township was built, belonging to the Sixth District of Guizhu county (shawen District).
In 1956, it belonged to Baiyun District of Guizhu county.
In February 1958, the whole territory was assigned to Guiyang City, belonging to Wudang District of Guiyang city.
In September 1958, Maijia, Zhongba, Gaochao and Duxi were merged into Yuemei commune. In December, Tuanjie, Yuemei and Yuejin communes merged to establish shawen commune, and set up Maijia management area in today's Maijia town.
In December 1959, it belongs to Baiyun town of Guiyang city.
In June 1961, the management area was changed into Maijia commune.
In 1962, Maijia commune was merged into Yanshanhong commune. In July, Baiyun town was changed from a municipal town to a district town and returned to Wudang district.
In June 1973, after the establishment of Baiyun District was restored, it was transferred to Baiyun District.
In 1983, when the commune was withdrawn to build the township, Maijia township was established by Yanshanhong commune.
In 2002, Maijia township was transformed into a town.

The tributaries of Maijia River include daniwo River (Liuzhuang River), xiagaoshan River (Xima River), Mayan River, Chaoshui River, Dalu River, Gaozhai River and Luojiazhai river.
