Yanshanhong Town, belonging to Baiyun District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is located in the southwest of Baiyun District, bordering Lengshui village in the East, Shapo village in Wudang District in the southeast, Yeya Township in Jinyang New District in the South and southwest, Zhuchang town in Wudang District in the northwest, Xiayan village in Maijia town in the north and diaopu village in shawen town in the northeast, with a total area of 48.30 square kilometers. The Ming Dynasty belonged to Guizhou avant-garde first, and then to Xingui county. In 1952, Baiyun Township and Zhongba Township were rebuilt, belonging to the Sixth District of Guizhu county (shashashao District). In September 1958, Gaofeng, Duxi, Zhongba and Maijia were merged to form Yuemei (Baiyun) commune; in December 1958, Tuanjie, Yuemei and Yuejin were merged into shawen commune, and Baiyun management area was built in today's Yanshanhong town. In June 1961, shawen branch was established and Yanshanhong commune was formally established. In July 1962, Baiyun town was changed from a municipal town to a district town, which was transferred to Wudang District of Guiyang city. The original four communes were merged into shawen commune and Yanshanhong commune. In 1983, Yanshanhong commune was transformed into Yanshanhong township. In 2002, Yanshanhong township was built from township.

From 1914 to 1941, Baiyun Town, Nangao township (today's upper and lower mountain areas), Zhongba Township and Caoguan Township were set up in the territory. Zhuguan Township, sunguan Township and Shenguan Township in Maijia town and Duxi Township, Jinle Township and Fenghuang Township in Dula Township belong to the eighth District of Ziyang County (former Beiyi District).
In July of 1941, Guiyang was changed to Baiyun District of Guizhu County after it was established as a city.
