Gantang Township
Gantang township is under the jurisdiction of Yanyuan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Gantang township was set up in 1952, changed to commune in 1958, and restored to township in 1984. In 1992, it was incorporated into jianshuhe Town, and in 1994, it was analyzed and restored to Gantang township.
On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Gantang township.
Gantang township is located in the southeast of the county, 90 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 119.1 square kilometers and has a population of 7542 (2017). It has jurisdiction over seven village committees, namely Gantang, Shunhe, songpingzi, Dabao, baitiaohe, Haiziping and maopingzi. Gantang Township mainly produces rice, wheat and corn in agriculture, and cattle, horses, sheep, pigs and poultry in animal husbandry.
