Shangmula Township belongs to Litang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

Shangmula township is under the jurisdiction of Litang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Shangmula, zhongmula and xiamula townships were set up in 1958, and Haiyi village of zhongmula township was incorporated in 1992.

Shangmula township is located in the southeast of the county, 55 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 199 square kilometers and has a population of 2000. It has jurisdiction over five village committees, namely Gezhong, Saigon, Honglong, bengo and Wusha.

Shangmula Township mainly produces wheat and highland barley. The local specialty is Tricholoma matsutake. There are gold and lignite deposits in the territory.
