Muni Township
Muni township is under the jurisdiction of Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
Muni township is located in the west of the county, 7.5 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 393.75 square kilometers and has a population of 1485 (2017). The road is open. It has five village committees: Shangzhai, Zhongzhai, baozuo, Sanlian and Shiba.
In December 2019, the people's Government of Aba Prefecture decided to abolish Muni township.
General situation
The main agricultural products in Muni township are wheat, highland barley and broad bean. Animal husbandry is dominated by pigs, cattle and sheep. The territory is rich in forest resources. Produce PINBEI, Saussurea and other traditional Chinese medicine. There are Zaga gorge and Zaga waterfall. at present, the total population of the township is 1485 (2017). There are three schools in the township, including one full-time primary school and two village level primary schools (Shiba primary school and sanvocational primary school). The total area of the schools in the township is 4046.4 square meters, and the building area is 1119.2 square meters. There are 163 school-age children aged 7-12, with an enrollment rate of 100%. There are nine teaching classes in the township, 120 students and full-time teachers 12. The qualification rate of teachers in the township is 100%.

Historical evolution
In 1951, the Muni Tibetan Autonomous Region was established; in 1956, the Muni township was established; in 1973, the commune was changed; and in 1984, the township was restored. in December 2019, the people's Government of Aba Prefecture decided to abolish Muni township.

At the same time, Muni township has given full play to the role of eco-tourism cooperatives (associations), completed a series of screening and training of eco-tourism reception demonstration households at township and village levels, and completed the construction of tourism reception center, ecological toilet and other infrastructure.
