Huidong Township

Huidong township is a township under the jurisdiction of Qu county, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. Located in the northeast of Quxian county. It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages. Township government in Dongping village four groups, 29 kilometers away from the county.

Historical evolution

Huidong township was established in 1940 and directly under Sanhui town. In 1953, it was divided into Huidong, Huibei and Wenjia townships. In 1956, Wenjia and Huidong merged into Huidong township. In 1958, it was changed into commune and in 1984, it was changed into township. In 1996, it covers an area of 31 square kilometers and has a population of 16000. It governs 12 administrative villages, namely Haofang, Dongping, Luping, Huangya, Taiping, Hekou, Wenjia, Tucheng, Laowan, Shanqing and Baila. In 2004, the three villages of Tiancheng, Longyan and Chuliang were merged into Huidong Township, and the township government was stationed in Gongbei bridge.
