Fangping Township

Fangping township is about 5 kilometers away from Guang'an District of Guang'an City, with an altitude of 241-396 meters. The terrain is north-south, high in the north and low in the south. The dry land is mainly converted to forest, and the vegetation is rich. The agricultural production is mainly rice planting. The township covers an area of 28.57 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages. The township is rich in natural resources, tourism resources and specialties. The rural infrastructure is perfect and the economy is developing well.

In March 2013, Fangping township was incorporated into the construction scope of Guansheng new district.

On December 11, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Guang'an City (cfzm [2019] No. 16): Fangping township was cancelled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Guansheng town. The people's Government of Guansheng town was located at No. 1 Wufang Street (the former resident of Fangping Township People's Government).

The origin of the name

Fangping Township, Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, formerly known as Chaoyang Township, got its name from a Chaoyang cave in its territory. The poem Nanyang Temple written by Li Bai, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, makes people even more curious. Although it has not been verified whether the poem "Nanyang Temple" is located in the township, the prestige of poetic immortal has added some magical color here. After the liberation, Chaoyang township was renamed Fangping Township because of its high geographical position and square terrain.

Basic information

Fangping township is located in the southeast of Guang'an District, 5 kilometers away from the urban area, with a rural area of 28.57 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages and 159 villager groups. the terrain of the whole township is north-south, high in the north and low in the south, with the highest altitude of 396 meters and the lowest altitude of 241 meters. It is a deep Hill landform. The dry land is mainly converted to forest, with rich vegetation. The agricultural production is mainly rice planting. the township has more than 13267 mu of arable land, including 7274 mu of farmland and 5993 mu of soil. All villages in the township are connected with highways, and expressways cross nine administrative villages in the township. There are 17015 people in the township (2017). Fangping township is rich in tourism resources. It faces Huaying City across the Qujiang River. The Qujiang River flows through seven natural villages in the township, with natural landscapes of Chaoyang cave and Bijia mountain. There are not only the hero village which successfully fought against the yuan army many times in the Southern Song Dynasty, but also the Qipanshan Mountain where the immortals played chess with each other for a long time, and the Liangdong cave which is built with all stones and rare in China. it is rich in natural products, and the whole Township uses the policy of returning farmland to forest to plant more than 8000 mu of famous, high-quality and special fruits and medicinal materials, which is conducive to the development of sightseeing agriculture. in March 2013, Fangping township was incorporated into the construction scope of Guansheng new district. Relying on Guanghua Avenue, Fangping development area spans the Shanghai Chengdu Expressway southward and extends about 3.5 square kilometers along the parallel direction of the expressway, mainly covering nanmu village, Lijia village, Heshan village and other areas of Fangping township. Relying on the first batch of start-up areas and Fangping development areas, the long-term conceptual planning area extends to Hualong Township and CHUANSHI Township, forming a long-term development master plan of about 20 square kilometers. Fangping township is the first start-up area and core area of Lingang urban industrial park in Guansheng new district. Fangping Avenue, Guanghua Avenue, suiguang Expressway and other road infrastructure pass through Fangping township. Changming high tech Industrial Park was officially started on July 7, 2014. The construction plan of the first 500 mu start-up area of the industrial park has been completed; 100000 square meters of standard plant and Guang'an high end Industrial Development Research Institute of Southwest University have started construction.

The relocation of Fangping Township People's government was completed in 2001. The hardening of the town streets, the laying of sewer pipes, the construction and repair of water stations and the erection of high-voltage power lines have all been completed. A modern town has begun to take shape. according to the unified planning of the District, the road hardening and greening tasks from the urban area to Fangping township government have been completed, and the village roads have passed the acceptance of the higher authorities and fully met the standards. more than 1.3 million yuan has been invested in setting up a closed-circuit television optical fiber network in the whole Township and installing closed-circuit television, so that every village can be connected, and at the same time, every village has a telephone. All the people in the township can hear the radio and receive closed-circuit television on time, which enriches the spiritual and cultural life of the masses. Increase investment in education, new Fangping primary school (now Guang'an Yuancheng school) teaching building 1800 square meters. There are three large-scale primary schools in the township, which solve the problem of difficulty for villagers' children to go to school. Fangping Township vigorously develops "cattle + biogas + grass (mushroom, fish)" circular cattle farm. The township makes full use of the advantages of local water supply, suburban location, rich forest and grass resources, actively introduces foreign owners and encourages local farmers, and vigorously develops the "cattle + biogas + grass (mushroom, fish)" circular breeding industry, which has achieved good results, and the development momentum of animal husbandry industry is good.
