Shitai township is located in the middle of Zitong County, to the west of Tongjiang River, 13 kilometers away from Zitong county. It borders on xiane, Xuzhou, shuangban, Huanlong, Hongren, Baiyun and other towns, covering an area of 39.93 square kilometers with a forest coverage rate of 40%. The township governs 11 administrative villages and 80 villager groups. In 2016, the total population was 10194 (including 9871 agricultural population), and the cultivated land area was 13713 mu (including 7235 mu farmland). It is planned to build 5.9 km of cement road out of the township in 2007; transform shitaichang town to make it bright and beautiful, and build cement streets; build 4.93 km of cement road through Hongxi and Jianshan villages; transform 16 km of gravel road through the other nine villages, and build all cement roads from 2008 to 2009. the township plans to complete the tap water reconstruction project in 2007 to solve the problem of unqualified drinking water for more than 2300 people in the township. It plans to recruit more than 700 workers in the township, so that more than 2900 rural residents can drink safe water.
