Baoquan Township
Baoquan township is named after the local salt well "wanbaoquan". It is located in the South Road of Santai County, adjacent to Xiehe Township in the East, Jianzhong town in the south, Anju town in the West and Jingfu town in the north, 46 km away from Santai County. Township resident Yongfeng field, the township total area of 22.67 square kilometers, jurisdiction of 7 administrative villages, 76 production cooperatives.
In December 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's government agreed to cancel Baoquan Township in Mianyang City and put its administrative region under the jurisdiction of Qijiang town.
Evolution of organizational system
Baoquan township is named for its high output of "dabeige" salt wells, and many people make profits, also known as "wanbaoquan". The township is located in laoyingzui, also known as yongfengchang. in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Santai County set up 28 townships on 4th Road, and Baoquan was under the jurisdiction of South Road Yihuo township (zhuanjuchang, now Anju town). In 1926, the market was established here, and it was named eagle beak, because the ridge behind the market was like an eagle beak. In 1951, Yongfeng Township was built when the administrative division of the whole county was greatly adjusted. It was named after Yongfeng farm. In 1956, the township system was abolished in the middle period, and it was restored at the end of the same year. On October 1, 1958, Yongfeng people's commune was established. in October 1981, during the census of place names, it was renamed Baoquan commune because of its duplicate name, and got its name from "wanbaoquan" in the territory. In 1984, the establishment of the commune was abolished, and Baoquan township was re established as an Anju district. in September 1992, when the district was withdrawn and the township was built, it was incorporated into Anju town as an office. In January 2000, it was designated as Baoquan township. in December 2019, with the consent of Sichuan Provincial People's government, Baoquan township was abolished and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Qijiang town.
