Yantan town

Yantan Town, founded in 1953, is located in the South Gate of Zigong City. It is the hometown of martyr Lu Deming, commander-in-chief of the Autumn Harvest Uprising. It is one of the four urban areas of Zigong City, the Millennium salt capital. It borders Da'an District in the north, covering an area of 27.69 square kilometers. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an average altitude of 300-400 meters. Yantan town is located in the southeast of Zigong City, on the West Bank of Fuxi River. It is the seat of the Party committee and government of Yantan District of Zigong City. Historical evolution

The town began in the late Ming Dynasty, the former site in the river yejiaba area, early Qing Dynasty, moved to this site. Because it is located in a long beach area with many beaches and buildings along the beach, the site is named "Yantan". Once upon a time, there was a saying of "along five li". Before it was named "Yantan", it was once called "shengpingchang".

It is said that Prince Guo, the younger brother of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, was exiled to Xichuan. When he passed by, he saw the beautiful mountains and rivers, and Li Shu lived and worked in peace and contentment. He wrote the word "shengpingchang" and gave it to the local scholars. The scholars' donations were engraved on the stone square at the entrance of the site, so it was named. Prince Guo was a famous calligrapher in Qing Dynasty, and the word "shengpingchang" was praised by experts from all walks of life.

Before the completion of the Sichuan Yunnan highway in the 1930s, it had always been a famous water transportation Wharf in southern Sichuan, and the salt carrying boats were all transferred here, so the population was flourishing. The scene of channel boat "releasing the beach" is very dangerous, which also created some popular pseudo "releasing the beach" heroes, such as longshun River, which is very famous along the river.

During the Anti Japanese War, people from both inside and outside the province also gathered here, once known as "little Chongqing". In July 1943, patriotic general Feng Yuxiang held a speech on saving and donating money to save the country. Tens of thousands of people donated money. The scene was very touching.

Delicious food

Wang huaisan's dried bean curd in Yantan town is the most delicious. If you chew it with jiaotuo peanuts, it's delicious. Ruan Bingrong's bean curd is well-known far and near. It's tender and soft. At that time, some big business houses in Chengdu and Chongqing hosted a banquet for their friends and invited them to cook fish dishes. After Zhang's death, his method of cooking fish was lost.

Gujing

There are many wells in a row of shops near the foot of the mountain in Yantan town. When there was no running water in those years, these wells really provided a lot of convenience for the residents. In particular, the two ancient wells near the Huang family of tongshengyuan are not dry all the year round. Their water is sweet and their cooking is especially fragrant.

Ancient temple

There are many temples along the beach. In the heyday of incense, there were more than 20 temples at the most. Among them, Nanhua palace, the Cantonese guild hall, was the most exquisite in construction. It was not only magnificent, but also had unparalleled carving and plastic work. There were many inscribed tablets, and most of them were made by famous artists at that time. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the completion of Nanhua palace caused a sensation in all the prefectures, prefectures and counties in southern Sichuan. According to the elders, it was the peak of Buddhist activities in southern Sichuan in recent hundreds of years.
