Dingshi Town, subordinate to Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the west of Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County. It is adjacent to Tonggu town in the East, Wujiang Gallery in the south, Tianguan Township in the West and livable Township in the north. It is 38 kilometers away from Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County Government, with a total area of 166 square kilometers.
In the Ming Dynasty, Dingshi town was subordinate to zhixidong; in July 2001, Dingshi town was merged from Dingshi Township, Zhongba Township, houxing Township and Puzi township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Ding Town was 28109. As of June 2020, Dingshi town has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is stationed in Dingshi village.
The main food crops in Dingshi town are rice, corn and potato; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, beef cattle and goats. In 2018, Dingshi town had 11 industrial enterprises and 23 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In Ming Dynasty, Dingshi town was subordinate to Zhixi cave.
During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty, Dingshi was classified as Xiyi Township, one of the "four townships on the West Road".
In 1935, the League training system was abolished as the joint insurance system. Youyang County was divided into four districts, and Ding City was under the joint insurance office of one district. In January 1941, Dingshi town was divided into two townships, Dingshi and Tianguan.
In 1958, Dingshi township was changed into Dingshi commune.
In 1983, Dingshi commune was changed into Dingshi township.
In July 2001, some areas of Dingshi Township, Zhongba Township, houxing Township and Puzi Township were merged into Dingshi town.
