Xumingsi Town, subordinate to Fengdu County of Chongqing, is located in the north of Fengdu County. It is connected with Dongjia town in the East, Sanyuan town in the south, Peixing town in the West and Shuanggui town in the north. It is 86km away from Fengdu county government, with a total area of 54.54km2.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), xumingsi town was under the jurisdiction of Sanyuan District; in August 1992, liming Township and peiguan Township were merged into xumingsi town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Xu Ming Si town was 19110. As of June 2020, xumingsi town has one community and six administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed at No. 1, liming Road, group 3, Jiayuan community.

In 1940, it belonged to peiguan Township and Sanyuan District.
