Zhongqiao Township, belonging to Nanchuan District of Chongqing, is located in the northeast of Nanchuan District, adjacent to Shuijiang town in the East, Shuijiang town and Shiqiang town in the south, Fengyan town in the west, Qilong town and Pingqiao town in Wulong District in the north, with a total area of 43.28 square kilometers.
In June 1929, Songqiao township was built in Zhongqiao township; in July 1998, it was separated from Shuijiang town to restore Zhongqiao township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the township was 10861. As of June 2020, Zhongqiao village has four administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in dangba.
