Tongjing town

Tongjing Town, subordinate to Yubei District of Chongqing, is located in the northeast of Yubei District, adjacent to Dasheng town in the East, Shichuan town in the south, Gulu town in the west, Dawan town in the northwest, Honghu town in Changshou District in the northeast, 30 km away from the people's Government of Yubei District, 45 km away from the main urban area of Chongqing, with a total area of 117.3 square kilometers.

In 1621-1627, the site was built with the name of Guanyin temple. In September 1985, it was changed from Tongjing township to Tongjing town. By the end of 2018, the population of Tong Jing town registered residence was 45632. As of June 2020, Tongjing town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 21 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Tongjing town is located at No. 99, Jingtong Branch Road, Wenquan community.

History of construction

During the reign of emperor Qi of the Ming Dynasty (1621-1627), the site was built and named after the ancient temple "Guanyin Temple"; because a well in the street was in the shape of a bucket, it was renamed the bucket well site.

In 1929, the Tong well site was changed to Tong Jing town. In 1945, Tongjing town was changed into Tongjing town.

In September 1985, Tongjing township was changed into Tongjing town.

In June 2003, HuangYin Township and Long'an Township were merged into Tongjing town.
