History of construction

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Xili, Baxian county. In 1929, Shiqiao township was built. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was divided into Chongqing Municipality, which is a town directly under the central government of Shiqiaopu.

After 1949, it belongs to the Fourth District of Chongqing.

In October 1952, it was changed into Shiqiao Township and was divided into the third district.

In August 1958, it was changed into Shiqiao commune.

In September 1966, Shiqiao commune was renamed Hongyan commune.

In May 1984, Hongyan commune was changed into Shiqiao township.

In June 1993, Shiqiao township was removed and Shiqiao Town was built.
