Chenjiaqiao Street

Chenjiaqiao street is subordinate to Shapingba District of Chongqing City, between Zhongliang (mountain) and biboliangtan (River) passing through the city. Chenjiaqiao street is located in the west of Shapingba District, Chongqing, adjacent to Tuzhu in the East, Xiyong street in the south, Chongqing University Town in the west, and Qingmuguan in the north. In 2003, with the settlement of Chongqing University Town in Chenjiaqiao town and Huxi Town, Chenjiaqiao town was established as a national key town, one of the first batch of central towns and top 100 economic towns in Chongqing; with the implementation of Chongqing western new town strategy, Chenjiaqiao town is positioned as the sub center of Chongqing City, the core area of Western New Town, and the tertiary industry service area of Chongqing University Town. The street got its name from its location. In 1920, a family surnamed Chen built a stone bridge here, so it was named Chen Jiaqiao. In 1951, part of Shengli village and Tuzhu village in Huxi district was built into Chenjiaqiao township. In 1958, it was changed into Chenjiaqiao commune and then back to Chenjiaqiao township. In 1984, it was withdrawn from township and built into Chenjiaqiao town. In March 1995, Ba County was put under the jurisdiction of Shapingba District. In 1996, it covers an area of 43.1 square kilometers and has a population of 29000. It governs 12 administrative villages including Chenjiaqiao, fengwenshan, renhemen, Sanhe, Wanbao, Baihe, Tianmashan, guanfangsi, shuangfo, Xianglushan, zhongfengsi and Shitan, and three neighborhood committees named after the ordinal number. In 2005, it covers an area of 38.42 square kilometers and has a permanent population of about 40000. The town government is stationed at No. 65 Chendian Road, with an urban area of 2.65 square kilometers and an urban population of 25000. In 2011, Chenjiaqiao street was set up with 12 villages and 3 communities.

In June 2016, Chongqing Municipal People's government adjusted the jurisdiction of Chenjiaqiao street, Huxi street and neighborhood office, and added Fengwen street and Xianglushan street.

Climatic characteristics

Chenjiaqiao street has a subtropical monsoon climate, with an altitude of 250-400 meters. The terrain is flat and the land is fertile.
