Wellhead Street

Wellhead street is located in the east of Shapingba District, facing Jialing River in the East and across the river from Yubei District, bounded by Geleshan town and Zhongliang town in the west, qinjiagang town in the South and tongjiaxi town in Beibei District in the north. Within the Shuangbei industrial group approved by the State Council, the economy, technology and culture are relatively developed. Historical evolution

In the late Qing Dynasty, it was named wellhead farm. In 1929, it was set up in wellhead township. In 1958, it was changed into wellhead commune. The Civil Affairs Office was set up in 1978, and the wellhead street was built in 1978. In 1984, wellhead commune was changed into wellhead Township, and Jingkou town was built in 1992. In 1996, Jingkou town and Jingkou Street implemented joint office. In 1997, it covers an area of 4.78 square kilometers; the population of Qikou town is more than 13000, which governs four administrative villages of Shuangbei, Nanxi, Qikou and Ertang; the population of Qikou street is more than 19000, which governs 10 neighborhood committees arranged by serial numbers.

On August 16, 2019, Chongqing Municipal People's Government approved to cancel Jingkou town and retain Jingkou street. Wellhead Street governs the administrative jurisdiction of the original Jingkou town and wellhead street, and the sub district office is located at No. 48, Fuxing Road, economic bridge community.

Geography

Jingkou town and Jingkou street, with a total area of 22.25 square kilometers and a permanent resident population of 85700, have jointly operated in 1996. They have jurisdiction over four villages and four community neighborhood committees (2017).
