Xichang town
Xichang Town, subordinate to Tunchang County, Hainan Province, is located in the northwest of Tunchang County. It borders Tuncheng town in the East, Nankun town in the south, Renxing town in Chengmai County in the West and Wenru town in Chengmai County in the north. The administrative area of the town is 114.37 square kilometers.
In 1961, Xichang commune was established. In December 1983, it was renamed Xichang district. In 1987, it was renamed Xichang township. In July 2002, the township was set up and renamed Xichang town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Xichang town was 17666. As of June 2020, Xichang town has jurisdiction over two communities and five administrative villages, and its people's government is located in Xichang market.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Xichang belonged to Nanli Yidu, Nanli Erdu, Nanli zhengdu and Nanli Fudu in Yongtai Township, Chengmai County.
From 1913 to 1936, it belongs to the Second District of Chengmai County.
From the 35th year of the Republic of China to the 37th year of the Republic of China (1946-1948), it belongs to the Second District of Xinmin county.
In August 1950, Xichang Township and Xiqu Township were established, belonging to the Second District of Chengmai County.
In April 1953, it was divided into Xichang, Xiqu and Xinan Township, belonging to two districts of Chengmai County.
In 1954, southwest township was changed into Renjiao township.
In August 1955, Xichang, Xiqu and Renjiao were assigned to Xinxing District of Tunchang County.
In 1961, Xichang commune was established.
